Oak Trees In Cement

DEEPER STILL...

An arm healed, a person saying "I love you too" for the first time in forever, cancer "unexplainably" dissolved, food appearing out of thin air... these things do happen. More frequently than we may realize. In my long time walking with God, I've witnessed miracles and experienced miracles myself. It's real, people. God is here. I have also been abandoned, rejected, homeless, persecuted and betrayed. At times, I rejected the very love that rescues and restores because it's so tempting to guard and blame God. But as I have opened myself over and over, He keeps healing me. He doesn't push people away OR push his way in. He brings his light and love and power into our lives as we allow Him access. Eternity meeting earth, meeting us where we are. Just as unfathomable as large oak trees thriving on cement sidewalks.
"....a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. " Isaiah 61:3
Oak Tree In Cement
So they say we're wandering
And they say we are lost
And they say that God's hand in ours
Is just a dream, just a farce
Oh, but love grows in us
Against all tragedy
Power moves though us
Getting people free
The impossible becomes reality
When God plants oak trees
In cement on city streets
Miracles happen every day
Pushin' through the laws of nature
Turn a blind eye and you'll miss out
I'm wonder-struck at what I've found
Oh, love grows in us against all tragedy
Power moves though us
Getting people free
The impossible becomes reality
When God plants oak trees
In cement on city streets
Living Stream,
Our Source under the ground
Life is more than what's on top;
Our roots go down, down...
Love grows in us against all tragedy
Power moves though us
Getting people free
The impossible becomes reality
When God plants oak trees
In cement on city streets
From what I've seen,
My God, He can do anything!
