Lay My Guard Down

written by Tanya Low

DEEPER STILL...

Honestly, I was also praying/singing this over some other people who seemed to have their guard up just like me. To the Holy Spirit. To whatever and however God wants to move. It's not in our natural self-preserving humanity to lay down this guard. Especially with all that has been happening in our culture. And we have literally been wearing masks. But the One with whom it is ALWAYS safe to be vulnerable with is God. He is the Living Water of whom we want more and more in these difficult times. Not someone to be afraid of and hold at arm's length. "Lord, give us humble hearts and show us where unhealthy pride is getting in the way of letting you in."

O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude

But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

Lay My Guard Down

Lay My Guard Down Tanya Low
00:00 / 00:34

I have no song but what you sing to me

I have no life but what you breathe in me

Empty words unless you speak to me

My only hope is You in me

My only hope is You in me

So I lay my guard down at the door

I want more of You, Lord take control

Above all my thoughts,

Above all I know

Only true Love's touch

Can make me whole

So I lay my guard down

I admit my fear,

How it leaves me stumbling

Give me ears to hear you,

Even if it's humbling

Cut through the lies

I'm yielding to your sword

Spirit of Truth,

You're mine and I am yours

Spirit of God,

You're mine and I am yours

So I lay my guard down at the door

I want more of You, Lord take control

Above all my thoughts,

Above all I know

Only true Love's touch

Can make me whole

So I lay my guard down

Living water,

Flowing in and out through me

You love me and you want my heart

More than anything

More than anything...

So I lay my guard down at the door

I want more of You, Lord take control

Above all my thoughts,

Above all I know

Only true Love's touch

Can make me whole

So I lay my guard down

Oh, I'm trusting in You Jesus

I'm trusting in You Jesus

I'm trusting in You Jesus

Oh, I'm trusting in You Jesus

I'm taking you at your Word

I'm believing what you said to me

Down at your feet,

Only You,

Layin it down...
