Come Awake
DEEPER STILL...
After many years of hibernation, writing music again became an absolute necessity.... but I wrestled, didn't know if it mattered anymore. Was it worth risking? That's the question for every misunderstood artist, every misunderstood person. Have you ever been so hurt that you just push down who you are? Cover it up? Try to just be parts of yourself and not your whole self? After all, I have a deep purpose and I'm busy with family life. It was safer to keep this part of me hidden. Yet it was aching within me, trying to be brave...
One day our oldest daughter came to me with a scripture she felt God had put on her heart for me. Isaiah 52. It popped off the page. I needed it, we all do... because It cuts straight through to our humanity and speaks of our significance to God. He radically values us, and our wholeness. This scripture invited me, and it invites you... to breathe very deeply of His unwavering, all-out devotion to you, His creation. To rise up and get rid of the stuff that keeps you from flying in your purpose. We may hide for seasons, but there is a time for the arrow to come out of the quiver and let the Archer have his way.
"Awake, awake...."

Is 52 NAS
He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, In the shadow of His hand He has kept Me hidden, And He has made Me a sharpened arrow, In His quiver, He has hidden Me. And [the Lord] said to Me, “You are My Servant, Israel, In Whom I will show My glory.”
Isaiah 49:2â€-‬3 AMP
Come Awake
Come awake
Put on strength
Shake yourself from the dust
Shake yourself and rise up
Lose yourself from the chains around your neck
Sold yourself for nothing
But I'll give nothing less
Then everything, everything to get you back
Beloved, come awake
Beloved, come awake, awake...
Arrow, fly
Fire into the night
Break the sky with your light
Leave your shame far behind
Feel the Archer release you past your fear
Power goes through the bow;
You're gonna pierce
Space and time, eternity, space and time
Beloved, come awake
Beloved, come awake
Do you see my feet running to you?
I've got good news!
I didn't think twice,
I gave my life
To save yours 'cause I love you
I shattered death, death and the grave
Now I'm calling you, touching your face
Calling your name, calling your name,
Calling your name...
Beloved, come awake
Beloved, come awake, awake
Awake, awake, awake!
